[Professor Woodley:] ‘Water - at Einstein Beach.

Liquid oxygen and animals like us love it.

Breathing it in, swimming in it, quenching thirst

Baptized in it

The Flood destroyed us

And from your unfolded beach chair you see surfers

While that beauty accompanying you makes the time zip past.

You observe this glittering beach & it changes

Because of your observation.

Invisible radiation shows in sunburn.

You walk along the shore & your shadow upon the smoothed sand

Teaches you of two dimensions.

Jesus demonstrated by walking on water & changing water to wine.

The dammed does produce electricity -

Water crawls in icy glaciers’ valley carvings

Cracking mountains.

Water’s meniscus proves it’s more attracted

To its domed self than its surroundings.

Heavy water -

The earth is predominantly covered in blue

And the sky reflects that.

We’re delivered into this world with sterile washed hands

The amniotic sac bursts an ocean from the mermaid mother

Your body, right now, is water..’

[He looks to the back of the class, as a door opens.

The Real Estate Dean, Professor Growse wheels in in support.]

‘Can you imagine the Roman who brings home a lady to her 1st hot bath?

Broken water

Ice in your drink to celebrate twins

A cold shower

Tears

Aqueducts’ power toppled by Huns that sack Rome.

Relatives arrive when their water is turned off.

But, we’re out of time —

Dismissed.’

[Hand raised, an Argentine:] [to his amigo] ‘Tranquilo, Che

[Amigo mutters: ‘Concha de la lorrrr..’]

Profayssor, are you suggesting a universal component here?

Water? Or is that a metaphor? A teaching device?

Is there evidence of such a signature force of design?’

[Professor Woodley:] ‘Yes, and next class we’ll cover the Golden Ratio.’

[Real Estate Dean Growse, after class to Professor Woodley:]

‘Really going through with it, Jim — cross curriculum?’
